Review: Seasons After – Manifesto

Tony Housh – Vocals

Chris Dawson – Guitar

James Beattie – Guitar

Seasons After’s 3rd album Manifesto doesn’t waste any time getting in your face with the lead lead track From The Edge. With a unique blend of melodic vocals & guitars complemented by metal screams and double kick drums, the disc continues its diplomatic assault on the eardrums through tracks 2, 3, and 4.

Track 5 Into The Ether is a refreshing 2 minute instrumental piece that provides a peaceful moment before it picks back up again with my favorite from the album You Changed Me. This song describes a failed relationship, where the writer knows it was bad for them, yet they continued to try to help the other person; which is perfectly portrayed in the line “You were my favorite knife. Every cut was another lie”.

Tracks 6 thru 13 take you on a journey through of the ups and downs of raw human emotion. From the ballady Falling to the intense It’s So Hard, there is sure to be a connection to every listener.
